Rashid Floyd enters his third year as a Head Coach and his second as Head Boy's Basketball Coach at Klein Oak High School. During 2009-2010, Floyd was the Head Coach at Waller High School in Waller, TX.  Floyd spent only one year at the helm in Waller.  In that time he more than doubled the Bulldogs win total from the previous season.

Floyd’s abilities far surpass his short career as a Head High School Coach. During his coaching career, Floyd has had former players receive scholarships to play at several four year institutions. Additionally, he has coached several All-District and All-Region players. Before becoming a Head Coach, Floyd served as Assistant Boy's Basketball Coach at Klein Collins High School in Spring, TX, under the direction of Coach Scott Harmatuk from 2008 – 2009 where he helped guide the Tigers to the State Regional Semi-Finals.  The 2007-2008 season Floyd was the Head Boy’s Basketball Coach at Hildebrandt Intermediate in Spring, TX.

Floyd also has collegiate coaching experience. From 2005-2007 Floyd worked as a Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Houston for Coach Tom Penders. During his two seasons at U of H, the Cougars had a 20 win season, played in a C-USA championship game and the NIT tournament. Floyd has coached All-Conference players as well as current NBDL & NBA players.

Prior to Arriving at the University of Houston, Floyd spent one season as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and recruiting coordinator at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA from 2004-2005 under the leadership of his former college teammate Coach Ben Hicks. In addition to his recruiting efforts, Floyd played an instrumental role in the team's overall academic development and skill improvement which included: scouting, marketing, and public relations for the MGCC Warriors basketball program.  

Rashid Floyd, a native of Houston, TX, is a 1997 graduate of Klein Forest High School. While attending high school, Floyd was a standout three year letterman on the basketball team. He earned team MVP awards and was selected pre-season All-State Honorable Mention as a junior. Floyd continued his education and basketball career at Bevill State Jasper Community College, where he was a two year starter.  Floyd furthered his education and basketball career at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL where he graduated Cum Laude. Floyd was a two year lettermen and earned the team’s Academic Award. Additionally, in 2001, Floyd was invited to participate in training camp for the Huntsville Flight of the NBDL.

Born, Nov. 11, 1977, Floyd earned his B.S. from Alabama A&M University in 2002, with a major in Physical Education. He and his wife, Ashley, live in Houston.
